Hero's Of Formula 1. Women Drivers.

Today I thought I would talk about another set of hero's, women drivers in Formula 1, or lack of them. I know some have had tests before, however only 5 women have raced in Formula 1, these were Maria Teresa de Filippis ,Lella Lombardi ,Divina Galica, Desiré Wilson and Giovanna Amati. All of these were before the 2000's. The last being around 1992. I also know that McLaren have tested a female driver, however I think I am right in saying that the Gee-Forces of modern formula 1 cars, are to high for the female frame, having just watched Susie Wolff doucmentry, maybe I was wrong. It was interesting to hear that females do not have the same set of neck muscles as men do. Would this stop someone like Susie, I do not think so, to see she is just as fast as a man in a Formula 1 car is fantastic. However can she go a race distance. Now testing for Williams, it shows she can. I would like to know how many laps of a circuit Susie has completed. I would also like to see her in a race...

I hope some day  we have women drivers back in formula 1. This would be great for men and women alike. Maybe if the engines are changed in 2014, as the FIA want but not the fans, than we might see a return, as the cars will be going a bit slower then before. Once we know where and what is going to happen with the engine changes in 2014.

So how many more of you would like to see women drivers in Formula 1?

What did we find out from the Bahrain GP...

Well for me Alonso was the driver of the day, for me he showed you can race and overtake without DRS, and keep the places also. A true racing driver.

For the rest of the race it was a boring, dull race that should not even be held. Bahrain is only on the calendar for one thing, the money it brings in. However what has it cost the fans, the great tracks of old are now missing from the calendar. I know its important for the money to come in however having to put up with a circuit that really has nothing going for it is a crime.

Button and Perez had great wheel to wheel battles, however Button did not like the fact that the number 2 driver was faster... In return that ruined both their races, Button kept fighting the younger driver and trying to put him in his place.

Come on Button, face the facts, in some races you will be faster and in others Perez will be quicker, it would have made sense for you to let him pass to maximise the points for the team...

When Button wants the favour returned, Perez will now make it much more difficult for you to over take in the future. I think it was a bit silly from the wise old man from McLaren to have done such a thing.

Being a Jenson Button fan that was hard to write, however you have to see the damage done, mind you its easy for all of us to comment when we are not the driver!

Massa.

What is it going to take for you to have a bit of luck my friend, 2 punctures both of which was nothing to do with your driving style, I bet you was pulling your hair out over those, it was a shame as you had the pace again of Alonso. Which is going to be great for Ferrari if you can keep it up as we may have a Ferrari driver and a constructors win for the team. I am keeping my hopes up, would be nice to see Alonso champion for Ferrari, that would really fire up the tifosi fans.

Mercedes.

Both Lewis and Nico seemed to go backwards in every race, the car has a great 1 lap speed, however what Mercedes seem to forget, is that races are completed over many laps. This really could be the teams down fall this year. Note to designer, A formula 1 race normally lasts longer then just 1 lap, around 50+. Please remember that in future for designing next years car. Best Regards, Formula1Dragon.

Mark Webber.

Is it me or is Mark getting all the dodgy parts for his car, I am sure they are building his car with technology from Ikea, where as Sebs, is built by Renault... I do hope Marks luck changes soon, I feel for Mark it may be time to change teams, mate. Next year I would hop over to Williams, they need a good experienced driver to take them to the winning flag again. Hopefully you could be the man to do it. You deserve a championship, I just hope you still have what it takes...

I would like to say the race was FANTASTIC, however it was pretty lack lustre. The best part was watching Suzi Perry on the BBC coverage! Should we watch her entrance into F1 again, I think so...

What a fantastic race we had, loads of action all the way through the race. Would it be good to see more tyre mix up like that on the grid. Having had a mix of hard and soft all the way through the grid really did give this GP something special.

It was very nice to see instead of the usual 10 at the front on all the same tyre choice.

Serious bad luck for Mark Webber, @aussiegrit. The man I would like to see become world champion, always seems to lose out at the beginning or the end of the season. I hope Mark has better luck in Bahrain.

Jenson Button was my choice of driver of the day. Having a car that is not on the pace, managing your tyres, so you can get the most out of the car, while also being a gentlemen racer, that really is hard to do. I hope McLaren can give him a better car soon.

Anyway remember you can follow me on twitter
